1. Using the service
JXL Converter (“the site”) is a free web tool that converts images to JPEG XL and other formats inside your browser. You may use it for personal or commercial purposes without registering.
2. Your images
- You keep all rights to the images you convert. Because conversion happens on your device, we never receive, store or use your images.
- You are responsible for having the necessary rights to the images you process and for how you use the results.
3. No warranty
The site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. Image conversion depends on your device, browser and files, and results can vary. In particular:
- keep your original files until you have checked the converted ones;
- lossy modes intentionally discard information;
- the site may be unavailable or change at any time.
4. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, the operator of the site is not liable for any loss of data, files, profits or other damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
5. Acceptable use
Do not attempt to disrupt the site, to circumvent its security, or to use it to distribute malware or unlawful content.
6. Open-source components
The converter relies on open-source software, including libjxl. Those components are licensed under their own terms, listed on the open-source credits page. These terms do not restrict any rights those licenses give you.
7. Changes
We may update these terms. The current version and its date are always shown on this page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
